- 1-2 tbsp powdered sugar (if adjusting sweetness)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Fruit Topping
- 2-3 cups seasonal fruit ((see variations below))
Finishing Touch
- 2 tbsp warmed apricot jam or honey (optional glaze)
- Fresh herbs (citrus zest, or edible flowers (optional))

Method
- Bake tart shell according to recipe or package directions; cool completely.
- Spread pastry cream or mascarpone filling evenly into shell.
- Arrange fruit decoratively or casually over filling.
- Warm jam slightly and brush lightly over fruit for shine (optional).
- Chill briefly before serving for clean slices.
